APPENDIX E FACULTY REPRESENTATIVE COMMITTEE RESPONSIBILITIES IN THE DEPARTMENT REVIEW PROCESS
The Faculty Representative Committee will: · Review the department’s self-study report. · Meet with the outside reviewers. This meeting should include the opportunity to answer their questions and to acquire information from them. · Meet with the members of the department to discuss both the department’s report and that of the outside reviewers. · Following the discussion, prepare a written report to the department with a copy to the Dean of the College. This may include the following: · Evaluation of the reviewers’ observations. How accurately do they reflect “the state of the department” in the view of members of the FRC? · Response to any concerns raised by the department regarding the reviewers’ report. · Response to specific recommendations contained in the outside review. · Response to specific requests or recommendations made by the department. · Review the “action plan” described in Appendix D of the description of departmental reviews and, if needed, make written comments to the Dean and the department.
