Welcome to Traditions at Randolph-Macon Woman's College!
Founded in 1891 and opened in 1893, Randolph-Macon Woman's College is proud of its 116-year heritage of encouraging community and achievement among women. Through the past century, women have passed down many traditions from class to class—traditions that enrich life today and provide common experiences across generations of students.
These pages are dedicated to sharing this heritage by publishing articles about our history, listing some interesting "facts and fancies" about our college's early classes, and displaying images taken from student drawings in our earliest yearbooks.
The following articles are taken from "The Past Master," a column written by Meredith Minter Dixon, class of 1984, for the Randolph-Macon Woman's College student newspaper, The Sundial. They are published here with her permission.
Please contact Ms. Dixon if you have comments or questions about her articles.
