Associate Professor of Theatre
B.A., Centre College of Kentucky; Ken directs and designs lighting and scenery for Randolph College Wildcat Theatre productions and is Artistic Director/Producer for the production program. He serves as Lighting Designer and Production Manager for the Dance Department's annual Spring Dance concerts and as design and technical consultant for the biennial Greek Play.

Ken appeared onstage in the summer of 2008 with the Blue Ridge Summer Theatre Festival, originating the role of Jared in The Bluest Water and taking a turn as Friar Laurance in Romeo & Juliet. Since arriving in Lynchburg he has played Derek in the R-MWC production of Caryl Churchill's Blue Kettle, and Mark, the title character in The Falling Man by Jim Peterson, and in a number of video productions in town. Recent design work includes: Living Out, Machinal, The Robber Bridegroom, The Rimers of Eldritch, As You Like It, The Children's Hour, the Greek Play stock set used in the Classics Department's productions of The Bacchae and The Clouds, and work with the Black Theatre Ensemble and the Academy of Fine Arts downtown. His classes include Directing, Lighting Design, Design Studio, Design Portfolio, History of Theatre and the Senior Project. He is one of a team of faculty that meet wtih the BFA Colloquium and mentors students in that program. He publishes the department's e-newsletter, the Wildcat Theatre News, and serves as webmaster for the Theatre Department website. Recently, he has been active with the Arts Marketing Group, an association of Arts organizations in town who publish a quarterly Arts calendar that appears as an insert in the News & Advance. He develops the groups website, Artslynchburg.net, and a companion site, LynchbrgTickets.com, both intended to increase the visibility of the Arts and Artists in the area and expand the Arts in Lynchburg. In the summer of 2006 he led a Theatre study group to London and to Edinburgh, Scotland, for the Fringe Festival. This was his second outing with the International Studies Program. In 2004 he led a group to Italy to see the Teatro Olimpico and other historic theatres in Fiesole, Verona, and Sabbionetta, and to Barcelona, Spain. The Department's next International Studies adventure is slated for the summer of 2010; visiting London and Dublin. ~ Top of Page ~ Follow the links |
