EDGE-ON GALAXY NGC 891
NGC 891 is located in the constellation Andromeda. We see this galaxy edge-on. Dust in the galaxy's plane blocks light and appears as a dark band running through the galaxy's center.
This image was made by adding together four separate unfiltered exposures to produce the equivalent of a single 16 minute exposure.
