Anticrepuscular rays! Sunlight passing through scattered clouds forms sunbeams called crepuscular rays which travel in straight lines. These lines appear as great circles when projected against the celestial sphere. Crepuscular rays from the rising or setting Sun appear to reconverge on the opposite side of the sky at the antisolar point 180 degrees from the rising or setting Sun.
