The twenty-four minute six-mile?
No Way! This really is beyond comprehension!
Since June 11,1978 the 10 KM world record has dropped
64.87 seconds from 27:22.4 to 26:17.53.
At this rate it will take more than 30 years for the record to arrive at 24:51.36, which is 10 KM (6.214 miles)
run at four-minute-per-mile pace! A massive 1:26.17 still
needs to come off the present world record.
The current world record holder is Ethiopian Kenenisa Bekele. His 26:17.53 in Brussels, Belgium
on August 26, 2005 is equivalent to 4:13.87 per mile average
pace.
He ran an average of 63.10 seconds per 400 meter lap for 25
laps.
