American Voices I is an interdisciplinary course in which competing viewpoints about the nature of the United States are heard, debated, and analyzed. Students meet individuals who represent contemporary America and who have their own distinct voices, among them social and political activists, environmentalists, academics, business people, and media personalities. We believe that giving students a chance to hear these unique American voices--voices that have often gone unheard--is critical not only in challenging their understanding of America but in inspiring them to develop and strengthen their own voices.

Here you will find descriptions of our American "voices," as well as links to the places we have been and photos of the sites we have seen.
