Help Clean Up Blackwater Creek for Earth Day!

Clean-Up April 21st.

The Department of Environmental Quality participates in the Adopt-A-Stream program, and has adopted a section of Blackwater Creek (Thomson Rd. to Hollins Mill dam).  In support of the program, DEQ volunteers will be collecting litter from the creek to celebrate Earth Day and would like to invite interested folks to help out!  The cleanup is Thursday, April 21 from 1:30pm to 4:30pm.  They meet at Hollins Mill dam at 1:30, where we’ll pass out trash bags and gloves.  Everyone will need to provide their own water.  If interested, you may e-mail Kelly Wills at kjwills@deq.virginia.gov.
