Our first
adventure took us to Natural Bridge, one of the Seven Natural Wonders of
the World, and a historic Virginia tourist attraction. While we were
there, we also watched "The Wonder of Creation," a light and music show
that tells the Biblical story of creation. |

In
February, we headed east to Jamestown and Colonial Williamsburg. We
talked to an archaeologist at Historic Jamestowne, walked down Duke of
Gloucester Street with an architect in Williamsburg, and met many
historical interpreters at both sites. Despite inclement weather, the
trip was a great success. |

In March, we went north to the Jersey Shore
and New York. We toured Asbury Park
with the author of 4th of July, Asbury Park, a book we'd read
earlier in the semester, and also talked with a developer working on
Asbury's revitalization.
In New York City, we visited Times Square
and Central Park, two of the cities most popular tourist destinations.
And in Coney Island, we walked through
the amusement park and ate hot dogs at the original Nathan's Hotdog
Stand. |

The BIG TRIP to Florida |

Itinerary and Photo Gallery |
Our final trip of the semester took us to
Savannah, GA; St. Augustine, FL; Orlando, FL; Disney World; and the
Okefenokee Swamp in GA. Along the way, we visited a colonial Spanish
fort, met with the Editorial Board Editor of the Orlando Sentinel,
explored the Magic Kingdom, and got up close to some big gators.
The trip tied together many of the themes
we've talked about all semester - tourism, magic, illusion, community,
business and more.
